Sir Run Run Shaw (1907-2014)
Sir Run Run Shaw was a native of Ningbo County, Zhejiang Province. He established the film company, Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong)Limited in 1958，and he was one of the founding members of Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB).

Sir Run Run Shaw also founded two charities, The Sir Run Run Shaw Charitable Trust and The Shaw Foundation （Hong Kong）. Both are devoted to the promotion of education, scientific research, medical and welfare services, culture and the arts. Upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province, The Shaw Foundation donated HK$ 200 million to support the development of our hospital in 2015. This statue is dedicated to the honor of Sir Run Run Shaw and his spirit of charity.
