On 9th March, 2017, vice governor of Jiangsu Province Zhang Lei, Deputy Secretary General of the provincial government Chen Shaojun, Provincial Planning Commission inspector Chen Yijiang and deputy director of the Provincial Education Department Wang Chengbin, with the relevant departments of the provincial government staff, investigated Nanjing Medical University and inspected Sir Run Run Hospital. They were accompanied by a group consisting of Jiangning mayor Qi Yuwei, vice mayor of Jiangning District, secretary of Jiangning high tech Zone Party committee Zhou Yugang, Party Secretary of Nanjing Medical University Chen Qi, President of Nanjing Medical University Shen Hongbing, vice president of Nanjing Medical University Affiliated Hospital, Lu Xiang, vice president of Sir Run Run Hospital Cao Changchun,  Kong Lianbao, Song Haiwen, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and Discipline Committee of Sir Run Run Hospital Feng Qin.
